Strategic Plan Draft
Dear ¹ú²ú̽»¨ Faculty, Staff, and Students,
‌‌I’m very pleased to share with you a working draft of what will become our next Strategic Plan. As you’re aware, our planning process has been ongoing for 18 months and was preceded by the Campus Master Plan project and the Visions and Values exercise. In early December, the six Strategic Planning working groups shared their recommendations, and since then I have been working with the cabinet to draft the Strategic Plan. We are now seeking community input on the draft, which we can incorporate for revisions prior to sharing the next draft with the Board of Trustees in advance of their February meeting.

To maximize the opportunities for helpful feedback, we have scheduled an in-person open forum on the Strategic Plan for next Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 10 to 11 a.m. on the second floor of Murray-Aikins Dining Hall. For those who are unable to attend, . The forum will be recorded so everyone can access the materials and discussion.
Meeting ID: 950 0628 1976
During the forum, we will give an overview of the Strategic Plan, explain its elements, share some context and thinking behind the various parts, and take questions and comments. I will also hold office hours specifically for feedback on the Strategic Plan on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 10 to 11 a.m. and on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 9 to 10 a.m. Individuals are invited to share any additional feedback by emailing planning@skidmore.edu. Details about the Strategic Planning process and timeline, as well as materials, can be viewed on the ¹ú²ú̽»¨ 2030 webpage. Additional information, including white papers, will be posted soon.
‌‌This is an exciting and challenging time for higher education, and the formation of a Strategic Plan that articulates our highest priorities and principles and will guide our work for the next five years and beyond is vital. I am grateful to the hundreds in our community who have participated in the Strategic Planning process so far and I look forward to the next steps as we move toward final approval of the Plan by the Board of Trustees in May.
